Max playable res for 4870

Right now I play most if not all of my games @ 1600x1200 with a 4870. Can I go higher or should I stay here in case I lose too many FPS? Thanks.

EDIT: In case it matters, I don't have a widescreen monitor.

If your planning on a monitor upgrade, I wouldn't go any higher than 24" (1920x1200) widescreen with a 4870. It should be perfectly fine at that res for most games out there.

i find 19x12 too much for my 4870 .. but i have become more picky recently
- i am running x2 which is perfect IMO

Im running mine on a 28inch at 19x12, only thing i seen problems with is crysis.
