Max Payne doesn't work in Hardware T&L! HELP!

Just got Max Payne and must say it's a great game. i've updated using the patch and such and i still get kicked back to desktop (often within the minute). The only way to solve this? Run it in Software T&L, however when i do that, the performance drops, which really sux. I can run it at 1024x768x32 with all things high, and the framerate is great. However, with software T&L, to get it smooth, i need to put it down to medium. I know this because last night, after cleaning the registry, Max Payne ran fine in Hardware T&L, this morning, when i start it up, i get booted to desktop again. Did what i did last night and didn't help. ANy ideas? System is in my sig. Using Win 2k and Beta 3226 Radeon drivers. Thx

Try other drivers for your vidcard? I dunno really, I've only played the demo, but soft t&l worked fine on my Voodoo5 and 1.2ghz Athlon at 1024x768.
