max fsb for a DFi Lanparty Nforce4 Ultra-D ?

im attempting to get 1000HTT whilst keeping my cpu`s clock at around 2.9Ghz, to do this i need to change the multiplier to 9 and increase the FSB to 333, currently im at a multi of 9.5 and fsb at 305, HTT = 915, i was just wondering if there were any DFi owners left to give me some tips. obviously my rams running on a divider but to be honest i dont quite understand how its calculating the speed for the ram,

fro example, its currently set to a divider of 120, whith an FSB increase from 200 to 305, i would expect the ram to run at 225 (all be it with more volts to stabilise it) but CPUZ says my ram is running at 181... so thats confused me a little too.

When selecting your RAM speeds, you get your ratios. So in your case, you're running it 120MHz when it's normal speeds are 200MHz so that your ratio is 6/10. They're all listed for you in the BIOS.

6/10 * 305Mhz = 183MHz

There are some small variances with clock speeds, so 181MHz instead of 183Mhz is part of that small variance.

I would read the stickied thread on overclocking in the CPU/Processor and Overclocking forum to get a better understanding of the relationships between HTT, FSB, CPU speeds and memory speeds.

it was listed not to use half multi's They end up rounding your memory up to the next highest value. This can be problematic if you have a high FSB.


I highly doubt your CPU will exceed the DFI LP's Max FSB, unless you intend to use a much lower multi. Even then i doubt your ram will keep up.

1000HTT doesnt give you that much of a performance improvement. I had it, with 1:1 ram timings. Kept it only for 1 week, then i bumped her up to 3.08ghz with a 790HTT, if i remember correctly. Dont be so worried about 1000HTT, you honestly dont see a great improvement over it.

the little extra u will get from pushing fsb won't help in sc...

u need to drop $120 on a x2 3800 from newegg...

i have same dfi, going much over 300 has never been stable... nbridge runs too hot...

putting the x2 (@2.5) in (replaced a 2.8 ghz opty) made a orders of magnitude difference in sc...

Having 1000HTT is entirely pointless. Tried to lower your rig to stock speed, and do a bunch of test on 600HTT vs. 1000HTT, and then you will see what I mean.
