my understanding thus far is that all the DDR3 kits certified for phenom 2 and athlon 2 uses the same voltage standards for DDR3 that the core Ix parts use. am i correct in believing this? thus far all the people i have seen using DDR3 kits with phenom 2 systems were using the new lower voltage kits, but i have been having complaints from customers saying that the memory we (we being another employee at my work) sold them fried their CPU and/or board, and i wanted to confirm that these chips were in fact damaged by the (1.9v) DDR3 we sold them. this was across various boards, from 3 different customers, and all said that replacing the dead component and the DDR3 with 1.5-1.65v DDR3 fixed the problem. i also had a customer call me last night and thank me after i stopped another employee from selling them 1.9v DDR3 with their chip, cause they found similar reports online. now, when i went to go and find where i had read this information prior (it was in an AT review i thought), i could find no such information. was i wrong to assume that you needed the same low voltage memory for these chips that you need with core Ix parts? if so, then why is the higher voltage stuff we sold frying peoples stuff? the CPUs were installed correctly and the memory wasnt jammed in backwards.
