Max amount of RAM that Win98 can use?

What is the maximum amount of RAM that Windows98/98SE can use? Is there a threshold beyond which you can have too much memory?

I thought I read this in the FAQ's, but don't see it? So lets say above 512meg and you won't see an improvement.

I run Win98 SE with 384 MB of RAM, and it will try to use up as much as it can.

Win95-WinME have a maximum of 2GB of RAM. They have 'issues' with more then 512MB, but there is a work sraound for that on the MS site. In general they do not utilize large amounts of physical memory very effectively however.
