Damn you Mavericks. It looks like its going to be Mavericks vs. Lakers in the first round. I was hoping the Lakers would face the Spurs in the first round so that the Lakers would get their punk a$$e$ booted out of the playoffs early. Mavericks suck.

Lakers are going to win it all, regardless of who they play first.

I hope D-Rob says, man, this is my last year. It's the playoffs. I've been nice all my career, and I'm going to go out and kick some serious ass, because I'll be damned if you're kicking me out of the playoffs. Maybe even throw in another 70 point game :) Well, I can dream can't I?

PS.
What's D-Rob's highest point game? I remember that year he took the scoring crown from Shaq in the last game, but I don't remember
how many points he got......it was insane, I know that much.

[edit]
BTW.....Mavs vs Lakers in 7 games = Mavs will continue to lose until they learn to play defense
but I do like them, and hope they win/won tonight

71, only Chamberlain and David Thompson score more points in a single game than David Robinson.

biggest problem facing the Mavs is not defense, which is really bad, but its their attitude. They let the calls the officials make bother them too much. There was a point when Nowitski thought he got fouled when he was shooting. Instead of going down the floor and playing D, he stood there and argued with the ref. The Mavs ended up playing 4 on 5 and Dirk's man, got an easy basket.

The last game they played, the Mavs melted down when they thought they were getting shafted by the refs. The Kings have the same problem, they will whine and complain about calls and let that get in the way about the game. They very well COULD be getting shafted. But they need to realize that that is the game and they need to play through it and not let it bother them.

Sure the Lakers will complain about calls, EVERY SINGLE TEAM DOES. The difference the lakers have is that they don't let the calls bother them. I haven't seen a game this year when Kobe or Shaq have gotten T'ed up for arguing with the refs. Sure it happens every once in a while, but Nash got one in the game last week and Dirk got one tonight.

If they get over that, AND play some D, then they can win, but not until then.

OMG, if the Lakers can ball in the playoffs like they did against the Mavs tonight, it's all over, I don't think even the Spurs would have been able to beat them tonight. And that's with Kobe and Shaq each scoring 14 points tonight. In fact, not including Shaq and Kobe, the Lakers had four players that scored between 16 and 21 points! That's a total of six Lakers in double figures, and that doesn't include the clutch play of Jannero Pargo down the stretch, who chipped in 6 points, 2 assists and a steal.

so many laker haters, just becuase none of your teams come close in class, doesn't mean you have to hate.

just admit, that the lakers are the best, bar none. can wait for thurs. night against sac town. i really belive that we will lose that game, maybe its Phil Jackson playing some mind games with the Queens. He knows he is in the playoffs and the regular season doesn't count anyways, right?

Not a laker hater. Just don't like them. Yes, they're good, but I don't like them being compared to other teams -A-la the Bulls two threepeats (specially the bulls first team of the second threepeat).....Or even worse, the Lakers/Celts of the 80s. I'll take Magic/Kareem/Worth/Thompson (argh)/Cooper/Scott over the current roster any day.

But aside from that, I still get mad about Game (6 I think) in LA, when Walker had that three that went in and should have been called off, and then Horry drained the 3 to win by 1. bastards.

I really like the spurs b/c of DRob, and "Timmmmmmmeeeeeeeeh". If I had to pull for a team outside of a nostalgic wish for MJ's wizards, it's Spurs all the way.

lakers have won 75% of their games since xmas. not bad at all! they'd be number 1 in the league right now if they won 75% of their games all season.

mavs are a team that win games that they're supposed to win (aka sorry bottom feeders) but tend to lose to the top rank teams. lakers can take the top teams but have a goddamn problem with the bottom feeders. whats up with that?

It's because they know as long as they make the playoffs, the regular season standings dont' matter. On top of that, over the last three years, they've almost played an entire season by itself in total number of games played in playoffs.

nah, only kobe is the cocky one.
without shaq, kobe can't bring a team champ rings.
shaq can probably do without kobe; however, his time is numbered, too bad.

I was so torn over that game last night. I always want whoever is playing the Lakers to win, especially this time of year , but if the Mavs lost then the Spurs would be tied for first. Then I realized that it didn't matter anyway. The Mavs should beat the Lakers because when it came down to the last game of the season the Spurs would beat the Mavs and get the West as well as home court throughout the playoffs. :D Unfortunately it didn't happen but all in all it won't really matter as far as the regular season goes, although it is going to make the playoffs interesting. :D
