Who wins for the most comedic reality show?

Personally I prefer Maury.

I don't find them at all funny. I'd like to see them gun duel, with the winner getting machine gunned by the spectators.

What's sad is both of them used to be honest and respectable talk show hosts. In fact, Maury was set to be the next Phil Donahue. They had news topics, important discussions on health, government, abuses of authority---kind of like a day time Nightline or Dateline NBC.

Since people that watch daytime TV moved from housewives to out of work welfare takers, those shows won't fly now. Therefore, they had to drop the bar and feature staged shocking situations involving some time of sex of infidelity.

I wonder if they're proud of themselves?

During the golden years, Springer was untouchable.

Springer use to be good, but Morton Downey Jr. had a show like it before Jerry that was on public access. His show was the good, but for trashy TV the ultimate was Richard Bey, it was more lighthearted but it was always great to watch. The best was when he'd have poor rednecks on who needed money and he'd tell the husband "if you eat this can of cat food I'll give you $20" And the guy 9/10 times ended up making his wife do it.

Is that the topic of every Maury show? Every time I go and get my oil changed, Maury seems to be on the TV in the waiting room and every time, the show is the "Are you the father?" subject. It is trashy and embarrassing. I seriously want to punch the idiots who produce his show.

They are both crap, but Jerry seemed to have a sense of humor about his guests while Maury seems like a parasite that sustains himself by draining the last vestige of dignity from teenage whores.

Why so mad?

Maury is some of the best unscripted television on for the past 10 years.

It is cruel but personifies exactly the American ethos -- laughing at those less able and stupider than ourselves.
