The Famous Maul's Barbecue sauce factory near St Louis,MO seems to be boarded up and is not taking any new orders. Maull's was a tradition in St Louis, MO as long as I have been alive. It seems they may have completely gone out of business but they never had a public announcement.

Neither P nor N so moved it here.

Cool story bro and from the ingredient list it looks pretty average and generic.

That was the only brand my parents bought. It was basically a *slightly* more tangy ketchup. Other than jobs, no real loss. There are dozens of more interesting options.

I like the BBQ sauces from the other end of the state KC Masterpiece. I fell in love with it when I was stationed at Ft. Leavenworth and have been using it ever since.:p

I'm currently using KC Private Stock. I cut it with extra vinegar and whiskey. Too sweet and thick for me out of bottle.

All of their stuff is good but I prefer this flavor the most:

Oh hell no, Sweet Baby Ray's is crap ;). Probably better than the ketchup in the OP but not by much. KC Masterpiece isn't that great either.

Jack Stack was mentioned - good sauce
Joe's KC - one of my favorites https://www.thekansascitybbqstore.c...ise/products/joes-kansas-city-bar-b-que-sauce
Cowtown BBQ - my current favorite had to order a gallon not that long ago.https://www.thekansascitybbqstore.c...e-merchandise/products/cowtown-barbeque-sauce

We recently moved from KC to the Detroit area and the sauce selection here is just garbage.

I've been using Lillies Q Hot Smokey BBQ sauce lately, its good, but the best i've been able to buy and bring home is the hot bbq from "real urban bbq"
I dislike overly sweet sauces, I want a reasonably hot bbq with with very little sweetness.
Otherwise Sweet Baby Ray's original is good, but I find their sauces to be much sweeter than I like.

I grew up with it, probably because it was 10 cents-a-gallon, didn't like it very much (though adding beer made it much better).
IMO, the only thing it's good for is nostalgia; if you didn't have it as a kid, you'll hate it now.
