No but seventeam makes a 230W sfx supply. Good luck finding one though cause I've been trying to locate one for a while. Also if you take a look at the Enermax site you'll find a new SFX supply that has pretty high ratings on all the voltage lines.

230watter.

The reason why you won't find a 300watt mATX PSU is because electrically, nothing exceeds the spec of 230watts in sfx spec. 1 Drive, 1 ROM, 1 processor.

Some matx cases will accept standard atx psu's, the v5XX inwins, for example. I've suspected that some of the cube cases might accept 1U server style psu's with a little work. They're relatively expensive, and somewhat noisy, due to the small fans required...

The better 200w SFF psu's are conservatively rated, and will do the job well, particularly the fortron/sparkle models...

Don't be misguided by poorly rated power supplies. The Powmax only offers 7A on the 12V line and a meager 10A and 18A on the 3V and 5V lines respectively. This power supply is AMD recommended and is highly recommended by silentpc.

The Powmax is weighted toward the 3 and 5V lines apparently for an AMD system without a P4 connector.
. It looks like it should work for that. For systems with a P4 connector you would want it weighted more toward the 12V line.
. There also is some missing watts, if you total up all the rails, you come up with about 200W. So apparently it has a bit more to give in a pinch.
. I'd gladyl use the powmax in some applications.

is it possible to have a regular atx powersupply outside of the case or would that be unsafe?

I cut rectangles out of the back of mATX cases the same size as the power supply.
They are cut out where as the power supply is against the wall opposite of the case opening.
Normally they have to hang out a bit so the back of a CD drive wont hit.
