matx/64 bit mobo?

I built the wife a little Aria. It's got an AMD 2500+ Barton on an Asus A7V8X-MX SE mobo.
Quite frankly, it performs for shyt.
She just does email, greeting card apps, MS Word, and things of that nature.
I was thinking a 64 bit chip and board combo.
What's my best option?

Asus K8S-MX comes to mind.

Are you sure your wife's computer is free of spyware, viruses and worms? because a 2500+ is not too bad for the usage you described there, although the onboard video leaves a lot to be desired.

If in doubt, hit Antisource.com and there's free online virus scanners linked on the left side of the page, and try Microsoft AntiSpyware beta too. While you'd probably notice the spyware/adware problem, there are worms and Trojans that will not show any visible symptoms.

Yup, It's clean as a whistle.
This has been a problem since day one. I thought maybe it was a hardware incompatibility problem. I've seen the same configuration a dozen times (corsair 512mb333 ram) and no one else is bitching.
The bios on that board leaves a lot to be desired. I've messed with the settings and have yet to come up with a combination that makes any difference in the performance.
It just likes to hang, work and then spit stuff out.
A new OS install was no help, either.

It's too bad that no NF3-250Gb boards were made in mATX format. I was looking for one last night and I turned up nothing.

I'll second the MSI RS480M2-IL, it's a great Socket 939 board for Athlon 64. The integrated video is the best I've ever seen before, and it has a PCI-E slot if you want to upgrade later. I'm running it in an Antec SLK1650, but an Aria and a RS480M2-IL would be a sweet match.

The Radeon Xpress 200 is a great platform for SFF Athlon 64 builds.

1. I don't use onboard VGA
2. I have an expensive AGP8X video card. I won't be abandoning it any time soon.

I'll skip mATX this generation. The mobo manufacturers let me down this round. 🙁
