matte all the way. i cant stand the reflections on that horrible glass, and turning up the brightness does me no good. it bothers me so much that i even put a matte film on the screen to lessen the glare. i cant even stand laptops that have a gloss coating on them - drives me nuts. also, the black bezel/border around the screen looks terrible. i would much rather have it in classic silver, like the old macbook pros.

how about you guys?

I have no problem with glossy laptop and netbook. Even with my iPhone I keep them clean all the times. Only desktop pc cones with matte LCD it doesn't bother me either

I think glossy can bring out colour better but it's no good for bright environments. The LED backlighting on the Macbooks now is bright enough though to not cause a problem.

I voted "glass" because there wasn't a don't care option. I had matte 15" MBP and now a glass 13.3" MBP and don't really notice a heck of glare or anything that frustrates me.

That said, I'm no roadwarrior and don't need extremely fine control of color balance and whatever for work. If I get 256 colors its good enough for me to listen to music, surf, and write in XCode.

I very much prefer the matte. Unfortunately, it seems quite difficult to buy a notebook w/o it these days. It's only been recently Apple reintroduced it to the 15" line.
