I found it funny because Matt put up a really good act.

I find it funnier (and sad) that some people thinks that if it's on TV it must be real.

This part of your post is why I hate the politically correct movement.

I know without a doubt that this was staged. Why? Because I am neither stupid nor gullible. If you think this was real, then you need to own up to being either the former or the latter.

WTF are you talking about? This has absolutely nothing to do with politcal correctness. And you are either intellectually dishonest or a fly that happened to be on the wall when Damon and Kimmel discussed the bit. And what part of "I don't know" confuses you?

This wasn't from last week, it was from a year ago, I think. So maybe it was in the papers a year ago. ;)

Staged...

Matt Damon can take a joke.

Both he and George Clooney said they would have been pissed if Matt and Trey HADN'T poked fun at them in Team America.

Its like going to a movie with one of those assholes who insists on informing you how every little thing in the movie isn't real or the people that scream "CHOPPED!" everytime someone posts a funny picture.

The fact is no one here knows 100% if this was staged or not. Why not just enjoy it for what it is? Who cares if it turns out to be fake it was still funny right? But go ahead and show us all how smart you are by figuring out its fake.

Are you one of those guuys who thinks pro wrestling is real too?

As per Wikipedia:

"There is a semi-recurring joke on Jimmy Kimmel Live where at the end of shows Kimmel says "...and sorry to Matt Damon, we ran out of time," the joke being that Matt Damon was not scheduled to appear that night. Kimmel told website tmz.com that "We do it at the end of every show for no good reason at all." The joke is a reference to the fact that shows like The Tonight Show and Late Show with David Letterman occasionally run long, resulting in announced guests being unable to appear and that Matt Damon (being a big star) would not be someone you would put at the end of the show. To spoof the joke Matt appeared on Kimmel's prime-time show on 13 September, 'acting' (in a very convincing manor) as though he was upset with the show running out of time before he could be interviewed."

Real or not, its worthy of another oscar nomination.

Given the factors tho I'd say staged, but either case that's one helluva reaction.

Of course it's staged. What actor in his right mind would go out with less then 2 minutes remaining in the show?

The reasoning you gave for believing it was staged kind of... sucked.

Of course he wasn't there every time he supposedly got bumped. Maybe he didn't know how much time is left in the show? I assume it's taped live and not actually live like all of the other late night shows, so the end time would depend on the start time. I doubt he was sitting there with a stopwatch.

Obviously everything up to the end of the show was a joke, but I'm not sure that Damon's reaction was staged. It looked pretty real. Maybe he's just a good actor.

Edit: Wikipedia does say his was staged, fwiw. No sources given.

Atleast we can all agree that the Jimmy Kimmel Show is 100% suck@ass, and more people have now seen it than all previous viewers combined.

Oh damn.

Nobody knows 100% if the sun will rise tomorrow.

But someone made you a bet that if the sun rose tomorrow you would get $1000, but if it didn't you would die, would you take that bet?

You really don't need to be a "fly that happened to be on the wall" to employ basic reasoning, and if you do so you should quickly realize that the probability of it being real is very, very small.
