Either get a g400 max, I love mine, or wait for the g450; it should be out soon. Or, if you love gaming, wait for the g800; it should be out in 2-3 months. :)

zippy - you are right, I love gaming. I'll think about your idea - wait for the G800. Thanks

If you're a gamer, a G400 is not for you, its a business card, not a gamers card.

Though it does have decent performance, its very subpar today.

The G400 is ok for games, like saying TNT2 is good for games.

I´d recomend G400 DH or MAX or wait one month for G450

Sorry to disagree, Sunner, but that's BS.

My G400 works great in games. UT, Q3A, HL, etc. All work just fine.

If you're a gamer, I'd stay away from the G450. It's 3d speed is not on par with the regular G400. It's more for OEM and Business people.

EA, I didnt say it sucks for games, I said it wasnt a gamers card and that it had subpar performance.

If you wanna play games, you want a fast 3D card, which would be a GTS, Radeon or a V5, or if you're on a tight budget, a MX.

The G400 is slower than any of these, even my almost year old GF DDR stomps it pretty hard, hence making its performance subpar.

That doesnt mean it cant play games though, it simply means if games is your primary purpose for the card, its not a very good choice today.

Not sure about the vanilla G400, but I think its something like 125/150 core/mem speed, using a 300 MHz RAMDAC.

The G400 MAX has a core/clock of 166/200, giving it a healthy performance boost over the vanilla G400, as well as a 360 MHz RAMDAC.

The G450 is using 166 MHz core speed and 166 MHz DDR SDRAM, which is pretty much the same as 333 MHz SDRAM, but its memory bus is reduced to 64 bits, vs the 128 bits of the G400's, making bandwidth somewhat higher than the G400 vanilla, and somewhat lower than the G400 MAX, the RAMDAC is at 360 MHz like the MAX.

Since Matrox are sorta secretive about this info, some of it might be a little off, feel free to correct me.
