Could someone who knows for sure please confirm that the Matrox rt x100 is not compatiable with my motherboard (Tyan Thunder K7X S2468). I was told its not and Matrox has not responded to my emails.

If it is compatible I'm getting a new video card at the same time.

I found on the Matrox site that the 760MPX chipset is on the recommended list which is the chipset of my motherboard so does that guarentee its compatiable?

Thanks,
Danny E.

My system specs:
Tyan Thunder K7X (S2468) with Integrated SCSI
Dual AMD MP 2100
1.5 gb of registered DDR PC2100 ram
Seagate 36 gb SCSI hd for windows/installed apps (i believe its 15k rpm tho its maybe 10k)
a bunch of 7200 rpm IDE hds for storage
SB Audigy platinum soundcard

it should work fine. i dont see why not. its like a sound card. you hook it up and use it for multi-media.

Hmm...from what I've been reading they are super picky with compatabilty especially with AMD...I just need to be 100% sure it'll work before we go out and spend the $1000.

Oh, and its a real-time editing card... ;)

Finally got a reply from Matrox :
Although we have not tested that exact motherboard, we do not see a foreseen problem using the Tyan Thunder K7X S2468. Though we cannot guarantee that you will have no problems. We think the probabilities are very slim to none that you would. We hope that this helps you out a little but we would strongly recommend that you visit the user forum. You may get great hints and tips and maybe run into someone that has the same motherboard as you.
Sooo does anyonere here have the Matrox RT.x100 running on a Tyan Thunder K7X S2468 ?

I used to work at Matrox and we did test with quite a few Tyan motherboards - I remember testing the Tyan Thunder K7 and the 760MP chipset which worked fine (although wasn't officially validated as the 760MPX was due out shortly so your board shouldn't be a problem. The basic rule (as they mailed you) was if the chipset wasn't an issue then you should be ok. VIA chipsets were a total no-no (low PCI bandwidth).
