Matrox P650 & Asus P4C800-E: BIOS problem?

So, I just put together my system a week ago. So far nearly everything is running great. Even my current overclock is 100% stable.

The major problem that I'm having is that I am unable to view the bios setup screen. Even the logo during post is garbled. It appears as a scrambled mess in the top half of the screen. Once XP starts the display is fine.

I borrowed my friend's Chaintech GF4 MX440 card, and it worked fine. I tried my Matrox in his ECS P4S5DA mobo, and it worked fine in there. I used the Chaintech to setup my BIOS, but now my friend has left town so I can't make any changes.

Is this a BIOS problem ( I have the latest BIOS installed) or is the Matorx simply incompatible with my Asus?

Any help would be greatly appreciated:beer:

Problem solved! (mostly)

According to Matrox, it turns out that the Asus bios uses VBE display mode and may not be reading the Matrox bios info correctly. Matrox has a fix available for download. Though it still doesn't display perfectly, at least I can see what I'm doing in the bios setup program now!

It's a good thing that I had another video card handy for the initial installation. I only hope that Asus will fix this problem in their next bios version so that other Matrox users will not get stuck like I did.
