Someone a few weeks ago posted a hot deal on this card and needing a new AGP card with good 2d, some DVD abilities and no need for 3d, this card fit the bill. Plus the fact was, I was upgrading from a Millenium 2 that I've had since ~1998.
Anyway, I'm using this in win2k, and Matrox has for whatever reason, limited some of the abilities in win2k (no recording abilities, i believe). I'm considering building a new win98 box where I can put this card in, but I don't expect to do that for a year or so, so I'm "stuck" with win2k.
Questions:
1> Is there an alternative to the PC-VCR software that is available from Matrox that will work with the g200? There doesn't seem to be much discussion about this product on the web.
2> How do I get a screen full of multiple channels up simultaneously? Like a grid of 20 channels or so? Or is that part of the software that doesnt work under win2k?
3> If I wanted a G450 (or another Matrox product that is >g200) can I upgrade to any model card and merely substitute it for the G200? Or would I be required to upgrade to the Marvel model, including the add on device? I'm not sure how it works.
Thanks.
