Matrox G450 problems

I have the following setup:
Athlon 1.1Ghz
Abit K7A Motherboard with default BIOS
Plextor Cd-burner
3Com Cyclops NIC
Soundblaster 64AWEGold
IBM Deskstar 45GB harddrive and a Seagate 8GB HD
Hitachi 640M 17 inch monitor

The problem:

I bought the Plextor cd-burner yesterday and installed it into my machine. Took out the old CD-rom (a 32X Pioneer), and put in the new one. When I turned on the machine, I got no picture. My monitor just said No Sync Signal. I tried my other monitor instead, and now I got a picture, but the picture is flimmering like crazy and it is impossible to see too much without my eyes getting very tired. I tried to take out the card and put it back in, same problem. Tried to disable the new cd-rom (removing it from the machine alltogether), same problem.

I never touched the card when I was installing the cd-burner, and I also made sure to touch the cabinet to get rid of any static electricity before I began.

Please help!

On a side note I can also mention that I've had certain trouble with power-saving in Windows lately, and the card refuses to send a signal to my monitor after I bring it back up from power-save mode.

If you have any advice on what I should do, please say so.

Thank you.
