Matrox G400 vs G450 ...?

which of these two cards is better in all-around performance? is it true the 450 is supposedly *slower* than the 400? how is dvd performance under win2k, outputting dvdmax to television, picture quality, etc etc.. any input is appreciated as i'm trying to narrow down the two cards... i know that one may be comparably priced to the other and all that, but what i'm looking for is, price and availability issues aside, which of these two cards is better...?

the G450 is just a tiny bit (between 3fps to 0fps) bit behind the regular G400. But the 450 has a faster primary RAMDAC (360mhz, same speed as G400MAX, G400 has 300mhz) and faster secondary ramdac (for second monitor). A faster RAMDAC makes a sharper image at higher resolutions and refresh rates.

All else is pretty much equal, besides the formentioned price, availability.

Since your prolly aren't considering these cards for their 3D performance, I would choose the 450 becuase of the faster RAMDAC.
