Hi,

I'm a little bit unsure about this combination because I have no clue whether the MATROX G400 runs on 1.5V AGP-voltage.

Will it simply work ???

Thank you very much for your input.

Check your G400 part no., if it has a "4A" on it(e.g. G4+MDH4A32GB/40) then it's guaranteed for AGP 4x(i.e. 1.5V operation).

mine doesn't have the 4a but it works anyway, i check so many times, i'm using the super micro SUPER P4DCE+ which isn't a board i like to fried (400 bucks) and it's i860. But that doesn't mean yours will run also.

I go trade or get a 450 or a 550 instead... :)

Wow,

the support from MATROX isn't that bad either. I asked them the same question only about 20 minutes before I startet my thread here and I just received their answer. Sure enough, they gave me the same advice as I received here :).

FWIW, I'm building a system for a friend using an MSI 845G Max mobo and the manual specifically lists the G400 (along with about 8 others) as being incompatible and possibly damaging to the motherboard if installed.
