My sources told me its a very expensive card ($500) so its a not a consumer card.
Right now Matrox is in a dangerous situation (nothing competive in market that usually means you are going out of business in time) >>
Hey, if people pay $400+ for a vid card, they will pay $500. It might be made for professional quality 3d graphics, in which case they will not be catering to the gaming community anyway.
You won't be seeing Matrox going out of business anytime soon. They haven't been competing in the gaming market cause they don't have to. They have been happy supplying their 2d solutions to businesses and other people who like their dual or multi-monitor support. They haven't had the need to create anything better cause they were supplying a product that didn't need improvement in their eyes. Don't fix it if it's not broke. I'm sure because of this they saved alot of money in R&D and now are ready to kick out a killer 3d card(I hope) for the gaming market.
But again, I won't believe anything til I see it
