For what it is, I think it has a cool factor. Neat that it provides such consistent frame pacing even if the FPS is crazy low.

Based on Cape Verde. So it's an AMD gpu essentially. I was like wtf.

512cores GCN 1.0, with 4 GBs. Ok not bad for the price I guess.

I wonder if the hybrid drivers from Guru3d would work.

I ordered a C420 off Ebay to play with. It's a lower end model with less outputs and is passively cooled. The same channel also did a review on it:

Yes I have watched that. I may add one to my collection too.

EDIT: Did the seller have more?

Ya, says more than 10 available. I got two, $40 each by making an offer.

They never really fully left, just been hiding on the sidelines. They don't make their own chips anymore. It sounds like they make the boards and the drivers though.
So they are more like Asus or Gigabyte?

They have solutions with AMD, Nvidia, and ARC. I like it.

My very first graphics accelerator was a Matrox Millennium.

I had a Mystique 220, decided to save money versus the more expensive Millenium at the time. Turns out the Mystique sucked and the Millenium was awesome.

I just ran Minecraft on the C420, it was getting high 30s+ framerate and consistent frame times, so definitely playable. I also tried Diablo 4 but it crashes on startup.

I had to look up pictures of different hardware revisions, but I came to the conclusion I had the RevA Matrox card with a Creative Labs Voodoo 2 8MB. The rest of the computer was a Pentium 2 400Mhz with 160MB of PC100 SDRAM.

I ran Diablo4 on GTX 780 at better than ps4 frames and quality =)

But yea that Matrox card was in a Dell, 266Mhz Pentium with MMX technology !! lol It did play Diablo 1 great. No lie.
