I recently completed a case mod where I integrated a Matrix Orbital display into the structure. I was wondering if anyone knew where I could get thin, colored plastic so I can change the display's default color. I am using the green colored one they sent me, however it still looks a little too blue..I need it green..perhaps a yellow filter?..

Check out the mod I appreciate any feedback..fyi I color corrected the display in photoshop to make it more green..its actually a blue-green.

How was TechTV?

You can play with cellophane and colored markers to nail the color you want, then visit michael's or some other crafts shop... They usually have tons of colored plastic.

Or... Go to a pro photography or movie shop. Gel filters for lighting come in an amazing range of colors...

Oh_my_God.

I'm speechless...that doesn't happen often. :Q That's not a "system"; that is ART! Wow...I'd be afraid to touch it! It should be in a museum or something under a plexiglass canopy! :wine::)

You have incredible artistic talent. After what, 5,000 man-hours invested, do you actually USE the thing? I'd be too paranoid to use it!

Wow. Everyone, you NEED to look at this...artwork.

Thanks... i hadn't thought of those theatrical gels...I may even have a sample booklet stashed away somewhere..thanks!

The TechTV segment was pretty good..the cast/crew are really laid back and smart...good energy there. I thought the segment was a bit corny but its all in good tech-geek fun..

I just found out I'm a finalist on TechTV's case mod contest..I'll be competing for a Versalaser 'desktop' laser cutter in an online vote...there are three other really great mods in the finals so we'll see how it goes..if anyone feels the kindness to cast a favorable vote..thanks!

the voting starts next week on the 25-26 here: The Screen Savers

cheers!

:D Actually that mod has the fastest (48x) CDR burner of all my PC's and I've been using it to make copies of... err...stuff!

Jesssus christ man! That mod is sick! What kind of LCD is the one that says The Matrix Reloaded (or am I a retard and that isn't an LCD, but just a piece of paper or something). Also how are those U are U fingerprint systems(do you ever get big problems with them or anything)?

Hey thanks for the feedback!

There is a 'marquee' that reads The Matrix: Rebirth 8.0, basicaly a housing that has a 4" blue cathode inside. The graphic is a hi-res print out on clear acetate with a blue plexiglass backing. The sheets are removable and replaceable.

As far as the Uare U fingerprint scanner, its working perfectly at the moment...very happy so far with it...but then again USB is kind of fussy, so who knows if the device will someday be snubbed by it.

The mobo is an Epia M10000 mini-itx @ 1GhZ...only 6.8 inches square...very stable so far.

Awww....I had a cool (expensive) mod idea, I wanted to put a U.areU. mounted on the top of my case w/ a big LCD next to it that would give you a dialog as your fingerprint was getting scanned. Only problems are, first there are no good big graphic LCD's for personal use, second I would have no idea how to program something like that.
