Matrix: Special Edition on April 29

On April 29th, Warner Brothers will release a two-disc special edition of The Matrix, just in time for The Matrix Reloaded's release in theaters. The special edition DVD will include all of the features from the original DVD release, The Matrix Revisited, and new features as well. Retail will be $27.95

Read about the features here. Now I'm happy I have mooched off of other people's copy of the plain version so I don't have to justify buying a second copy to myself. 😀

Sounds good. Hell, I would buy this new edition for the keep case alone. Snappers suck. :disgust:

The first DVD run they did looked like $hit when it played anyway, I will happily replace it.

Hmm...odd...that was considered a reference disc by many when it came out.

The way I read it, it was a reference on how NOT to do a DVD run. It sucks. :disgust:

I'm not falling for this crap.

I'll just wait till NEXT year when they have the ultimate "Trilogy Super Collector Ultimate Nerd Wet Your Pants Gift Set."

I AM SOO SICK AND FVCKING TIRED OF THESE COMPANIES RELEASING MULTIPLE COPIES OF THE SAME DVD, WITH SPECIAL FEATURES AND CRAPOLA, LIKE TWO YEARS AFTER THE MOVIE. Sometimes, I WANT those features. (E.G.--Usual Suspects, then Usual Suspects "Special Edition", The Rock, The Rock -- CRITERION, Bad Boys, Bad Boys - Special Edition)

I've had it with these companies. I'm waiting till next year.

No, that would be George Lucas.

Same as Peter Jackson (LOTR - 4 freaking different versions), and the Matrix People. They are all greedy. It's all about money.

Ahhh yes, but these are the advantages of DVD, like it or not.

Actually, I think the way New Line has handled the LOTR DVDs has been perfect. It was stated *well* in advance that there would be three versions: the theatrical cut, the extended cut, and possibly a final cut with all three movies integrated. There are ZERO nasty surprises for consumers. Everyone is free to choose any version they like without fear of their copy being suddenly and unexpectedly rendered obsolete later. That kind of choice is good.

That was my friend's response to me when I told him about this. It is a very good point. It would be nice if they would just make one final copy and dump everything into it they can.
