Matrix Revolutions: What is the significance of Neo's blindfold?

In the 'Believe' trailer, Neo is seen wearing a blindfold in several scenes. Anyone wish to hazard a guess?

That's what I think. Being blindfolded allows him to see "the truth," or something to that affect.

No its like in star wars when obi tells luke to put the blast shield down and fight using the force or something like that. I bet yoda is in this one teaching him to use the force and his eyes are no longer needed to see because the force runs so strong in him.

umm he is bleeding from underneath the blind fold and through it i think so if he just did it to see better, then why the blood? Something must happen to him where he puts it on other than just to see better or he wouldnt be bleeding...
