Heh, this reminds me of my trip to Canada. There were people selling LOTR: TTT on dvd last year. It was only available in PAL, but it was much earlier than the theatre release.

Well, for one, the chinese have no copyright laws, so it would be legal to have that over there.

i wouldn't say that, i bet there are laws. enforcement maybe lax is all. any country that wants to grow an intellectual property industry from music to technology needs ip laws. otherwise theres little incentive to create.

Exactly. Enforcement is next to nothing in communist run governments. Microsoft was at first very hesitant in investing and creating a Chinese version of Windows because it saw so much of their software was being pirated and when they approached the proper authorities, they basically did nothing. Only after getting them to invest a large stake of capital in the development as well profit sharing in each copy sold that the Chinese government started complying and helping to crack down. The warez still exists and it will always exists in markets like China but at least it wasn't as rampant as before.

I saw that spoiler page before, and I thought that all the pics were from the trailer. It's been a while since I saw it, but I think there was only 1 or 2 pictures that I couldn't place in the trailer (it'd been a while since I saw the trailer)
