Matrix question: Not connected to the source?

There are exiles who take place in the "matrix", yet are not connected to the source.

The Matrix is running on the machines computers/hardware I assume. Are the exiles connected to the machines hardware? or could they be using other machines that they have taken control of and are now "logging on" to the matrix?

Or are exiles just like files that are no longer connected to the matrix file system?

How is Neo able to communicate with the matrix without being connected?

they are rogue programs, like virii, they arnt connected to teh source and therefore can do what they want

One of the Exliles that you reffer of is Seti. Yes, shes a program. All Exiles are programs. I would guess that they are running in the matrix, or else they couldnt exist. Like a viri on our desktops today, they (the exiles or viri) might not be monitored or wanted on the system, they are still there. Hence, we run an anti viri program (the matrix = agents) to get rid of them.

Neo learns the new ability in Revolutions, being able to communitcate with that machines/Matrix wirelessly. This new ability stems from the cookie he ate in the first movie that the Oracle gave to him.

wow someone else that understood the movie, Neo WAS NOT SUPPOSED TO BE THE ONE, the oracle made him the one by editing his code when she gave hom the cookie, just like when the merovingian (sp) gave that girl the cake and mage her go oOOo, that is the first clue, the other is the cookie and the final is at the end when the architect yells at her about the "game she plaied", this is also why neo didnt choose either of the doors when he talked to the architect, because he wasent really the one he had the whole love thing to deal with, the real "one" wouldent have
