Mathtype... LaTeX.... anybody use these?

i find it alot less tedious to type out my hw assignments than do them by hand... i've been using ms equation editor for this. it is nice, but i downloaded the trial of mathtype just to see what it could do. i like it a lot....

a friend suggested using LaTeX... what do you guys think? is there any way to get line numbers using mathtype in word? ah so many questions, post any thoughts you have regarding this matter please

If you want to come up to Omaha, Nebraska, my programming professor is giving a talk on Latex in mid-December.

TeX/LaTeX is the way to go. LaTeX comes standard with Linux; for Windows many people use WinEdt with MikTeX.

LaTeX is the king I write all my papers on LaTeX and never looked back. Equation Editor? Ugh
