Mathematica, Matlab, or Maple, and why?

Just takin a short survey to see what the favorite math software is around here. Opinions are welcome, too.....

Well, I personally like derive a lot. But Mathematica is better.
Also, note that while Mathematica and Maple CAN do numeric stuff, MatLab can't do algebraic formula stuff (well).

Mathematica Rocks!
But then, the only other similar system I've used is MathCAD, which is nice, but not a threat to mathematica IMHO.

Well I really like Matlab because it can be easily extended with C/C++ and fortran!
Haven't played much with the others since I felt there was no need for it!

What do you mean by this??

Matlab has a symbolic math toolbox that rocks!!!

Matlab for Engineering/ Numerical solutions

Mathematica/maple for symbolic calculations/ actual math

The choise mostly depends on needs, and then on preferences (eg mathematica vs. maple)
