I neeed help on my summer math homework. I cant figure this one out:

Given an equation ax+by=c where a, b, and c are nonzero integers, describe a method for choosing an integral value for x so that the corresponding y will also be an integer.

you need for x and y to be integers. and you're being asked to find some x such that y is an integer. obviously you're going to mess around to solve for "something" so that y is an integer, since you are asked to find y. and x would have to be in terms of a b and c. since x would depend on what a b and c are.

Exactly what I was thinking. I was tring to play around with problems that I made up (something like 3x+7y=11) to see if I could find a pattern, but i couldn't.
