math is not adding up to what is showing in Windows

I changed my settings from 8x355=3200mhz to 7x450 and 2 different programs are telling me that I am running at 4050ghz which seems impossible with this chip on stock cooling. look at these screenshots. Did I somehow fool the programs?

yes you did miss that those programs are thinking you are running 450x9 = 4050

3150 is your real speed. get cpu-z

yeah, I now see in the Sandra results that the multiplier is indeed 7 - that's probably why the latest BIOS revision includes a CPU ID fix.

known issue that most apps assume default multiplier and incorrectly calculate total speed.....Even easytune Gigabyte's own ocing tool will read it incorrectly. at least the older version of easy tune 5 that came with the board. I know there is a newer version for download but it is a crappy app anyways and I removed it.


By the way 8x355 does not equal 3194mhz....i think that is supposed to be 9x355 in your sig...unless you do have a 8x multi being used and thus you are only running 2840mhz...
