i feel like a dumbass, but i can't remember how to do this simple algebra...

i'm given the answer is 166.624 but i can't figure out how the hell they did it...

multiply both sides by x, add 1x to both sides, divide both by 1.25.

Your objective is to isolate x.

.25 = (204.59 + 3.69 - x)/x
.25 = (208.28 - x)/x [Simplify]
.25x = 208.28 - x [Multiply both sides by x]
1.25x = 208.28 [Add x to both sides]
x = 166.624 [Divide by 1.25]

.25 = (204.59 + 3.69 - x) / x
.25x = 208.28 - x
.25x + x = 208.28
1.25x = 208.28
x = 208.28 / 1.25
x = 166.624

EDIT: beat :(
