Hi was just wondering what people would recommend was the best materials to use when building your our custom case
 
Silver is the most thermally conductive, commonly available element, followed by copper. Aluminum is not quite as good but a lot cheaper than both and softer than copper (easier to work with), so I'd go with aluminum.

I like working with wood and aluminum. You can use regular wood working powertools to cut and shape (relatively) soft aluminum. Many use acrylic, but I can't stand working with that stuff.

Here are a couple of cases that I've built in the past, an aluminum radiator box and a cherry SFF case:
