Material purchasing

Does anybody know where I can purchase materials to make a metal or plastic box? I am at a loss as to where I can purchase the materials for it.

What type of box? Need more info. Probably Lowes/Home Depot would be fine, they have plastic and metal

I mean that I want to buy the materials to make the box. I'm going to be making a box that is about 8.5"wide, 1.5" tall, and 6" long.
