I know this topic has been discussed to the death but just once more. I have 2 rigs and 2 vcs, I want to get the best performance out of both so i need to help on deciding what vc should go into which rig.

Video Card 1: Leadtek A280 GeForce Ti4200 128mb Vivo

Video Card 2: ATI Radeon 8500 LE 128mb (modded to retail 64MB)

System 1: P4 2.5ghz, 512mb, 80gb on a Abit IT7 MAX2

System 2: Amd XP2000+, 512mb, 80gb on a ECS K7VTA3

Put the fastest GPU (Ti4200) with the fastest CPU (P4 2.5 GHz).

BTW I don't remember a P4 @ 2.5 GHz; is it some kind of overclock on your part?

Its an earlier P4 2.53 circa 2002 and its oced to 2.77. The stock HSF and cheap memory keep it from breaking 3ghz

put the ati card with the intel cpu
they work well together

i've run a ti4200 on athlon and a P4 rig and noticed similarities
the p4 was much faster tho

should be close if the athlon is overclocked

Whatever video card is with the P4 will be faster. You won't be getting best performance out of both.

I would think that the P4 would be faster with both, given the P4's sidebus speed (400 MHz) And the fact that it's on a nicer MOBO.
