I have an inspiron 1525 that I've hackintoshed. I'm got my Piano with midi out succesfully controlling Garageband and making some crazy sounds.
However, the speakers on the 1525 suck. However, the piano I'm working with has an aux in that I would like to use for the output of garageband.
So I grabbed a male to male 3.5mm cord and a spare 1/4" male adapter and attmpted to hook up the headphone out of the inspiron to aux in of the piano.
However an extremely large buzzing/humm sound emits from the piano speaker when ever I get anywhere close to hooking it up. I don't dare completely connect them for fear of destroying the speaker in the piano.
The aux in is rated at .5VRMS and 6KOhms. I don't really have any experience with device matching. Stuff I've worked with usually just plays nice. Computer/Computer Speaks, Ipod/Headphones, AVR/DVD and speakers etc.
Ideas?
