I think it depends on what field you're going into. I'm getting my Masters in Electrical Engineering and I think it helps somewhat. One example is that the types of jobs available between BS, MS, PhD are sometimes completely different.

I think you should concentrate on Doom III. Forget about accounting...less competition for me. :D

If people in your career with BS degrees are a dime a dozen, get a Master's. Especially EE/CS. Some companies only are hiring people with minimum of a Master's degree, or if they do hire you, you won't get promoted very fast or very far. Think about where you want to be in 10 years, and get the education you need to get there.

I am in my junior year of my undergrad (double major: env. studies and geography) and will be then starting my graduate studies (Library and Information Science). Unfortunately, you MUST have a masters to be a librarian, so everyone has one and the day is still crap.

I am currently pursuing my Masters in Business Operations Management right now. Whether or not it?s worth it, I don?t know. Only time will tell. Tuition is 100% covered, so I have no excuse not to get it.

yuck, operations management = boring.

Boring, but free.

This post is absolutely meaningless without talking about an MA in what.

My mom got one of these 40 years ago i.e. before the days of the internet, and I just can't figure her out. She has ZERO problems with databases, writes her own programs/macros for Paradox (what her library uses) to dig out data, and has ZERO problem searching Lexus-Nexus for the most obscure case law . . .

. . . but she has zero clue how to use google. I swear a part of her brain shuts off as soon as its connected to the internet.

Even if he doesn't define success as how much money he makes, making more money and becoming more skilled in a field is still good.

Yes, go for it.

YES you should get it, but there is a VERY good reason why you should get a masters in accounting.

The CPA exam requires to have something like 150 credits before you take it (in NJ anyway). Normally undergrads have 120 ish credits when they graduate, those 30 extra credits are best spent taking courses in your field.

What if I have a double bachelor's degree? (241 quarter credits by the time I graduate)
