Anyone watching this season? It wasn't my thing last season but this year, one of the contestants is a student of my 8th grade English teacher. He's from my city so rooting for him :D

Ridiculously cute show. Having a hard time choosing whether to watch this or the Flash...

I just noticed that on hulu today. I think I might like it. I hate his shows because he yells and swears so much and acts like an idiot. Well more than usual for the rating. His BBC shows are a lot more mellow and better. I think a kids one would be perfect

Watched it last year and liked it. Amazing what some of these kids can do.

The kids are great, they make the show way different from the adult version, in a good way. They are not at the age yet to act like assholes or be super arrogant. They can cook and really car about the other kids, I didn't watch it last year, sorry I didn't, its fantastic.

I was pretty amazed last year too. But the kids were just TOO good. I mean, how can an 8 year old make random gourmet dishes on the spot.

Then I read the behind the scenes stuff about how the kids generally come from rich families who are interested in getting their kid on TV. The kids are picked on their acting abilities and personality. Their families often hire personal chefs to train the kids. They know the challenges and ingredients in advance and practice making it over and over again. Even still, they have copies of the recipes in their counter. Some of the dishes are not even tasted and others may sit for hours before they are. I was very disappointed at how fake it was.

I should add, I was wrong about the finals though.

I thought for sure they were going to pass through the black girl. I just could not see how they were going to allow a fat Jewish boy win again.

Way to jump to conclusions. Do you even think before you post?

Last season, it was obvious they wanted Alexander Weiss to win. There was even that one show when he started blubbering because he messed up badly and knew he was going to get kicked off. But they kept him because it was previously decided he would win.

This season you had Samuel Stromberg, who is an Alexander clone. Since they are picking the winners not solely on cooking talent, I didn't think they'd want someone who was an exact duplicate of the previous season's winner, a fat Jewish kid. Imagine the outrage if too many white males were to win American Idol. I also believe that is why Samuel didn't win even though he was clearly better than his opponent all season long.
