Master of Orion 3: most disappointing game i have ever bought

They bought the right to make the sequel to master of orion 2 (which was an excellent game - it just needed better graphic) They took 4 years to develop. and it turned out to be a piece of crap. The graphic looks like graphic you would expect when you played a game on a 486 system. The combat graphic is even worse. The AI is basically doing everything in the game; yet without the AI, there's too much unnecessary details to follow up. There has been some "experiments" in which someone just sat there and hit TURN for 200 turns without doing anything and he won!
I'm gonna throw this one up on Ebay next week. I just couldn't find one single good reason to keep it 🙁

I'm a huge moo and moo2 fan but I dont like this game at all 🙁

my friend recomended reading a few sticky posts on the forum at www.moo3.com, helped him to understand the game and now he actually likes it

I did! Unfortunately, reading those didn't change my mind 😉 I mean, if it wan't Master of Orion 3, which is a sequel to MOO2, then i might find it's reasonable, but come on...it's 50 bucks and it carries "Master of Orion" in its name

I was going to get this today. What's wrong with it?

Two words: It sucks. You can read some more information on the discussion board at moo3.quicksilver.com

yep, that sums it up, i got bored of it already

Yeah, I hear it's pretty bad. Pity, as a huge MOO1 fan I was really looking forward to it and the earliest reviews were all positive. Oh well, I guess I'll wait until it hits the bargain bins.

I was anticipating this game and waiting for it to be released for over a year. When I got it, I installed it, played it, and uninstalled it all in a timeframe of 10 minutes.

What a shame...

I STILL play MOO2. 🙂

: ) Hopper

MOO3 isn't meant to be micromanaged.

The only thing you really have to look after is technology, finance, and your fleet. The viceroy of each planet will build to your specs.
