Southern Cal might have preserved its unbeaten streak with a last-second victory Saturday at Notre Dame, but the Trojans are no longer the No. 1 team in the country, according to the Master Coaches Survey.

Citing concerns about the USC defense, which has allowed a total of 80 points in its past three games, the Master Coaches have moved Texas into the nation?s top spot and dropped Southern Cal to No. 2.

all those losses and still gettin' some props!

go blue!

i'm surprised the coaches put texas tech up there. i thought they would go against the ap and coaches polls on them.

I'm not surprised at all...

Texas beating Ohio St in Columbus is more impressive than USC beating ND at ND...and Texas, though I think they've been the more talented team in recent years, also beat OU, which had been a mental block for them in the past...

I wouldn't be at all surprised to see Texas with the whole thing this year.

I wouldn't be surprised to see them routed by USC in the Rose Bowl.

I'm predicting another 55-19 shellacking by USC.😀
