Looking to give this a go. It's that maple syrup/water/cayenne pepper diet that's been cropping up in the news lately.

Not to lose weight, as that's not what it's meant for, but to clean out the toxins/junk/whatever that have almost assuredly built up in my body. Has anyone tried this, and did they notice any results from it? Any tips/hints about what to do while on it?

Water and roughage is all you need to clean yourself out.

See this thread for why anything else is a waste of time.

Toxins are a bunch of BS. Newagey nonsense. It's your money though. I'm not trying to belittle you but doing a bit of research on this will show you just how much snake oil this garbage is. Someone out there is laughing all the way to the bank.

Penn and Teller did a "Bullsh|t" episode on "cleansing enemas" and fruit juice treatments.

Send me the money and I'll beat the poop out of you instead for even thinking about buying into that BS. :p

I just now realized that this is all you plan to eat. You're not going to accomplish anything positive at all, but you will harm yourself because you're not getting the proper nutrition. I don't think anyone has claimed that this diet was good for you before, no one with any type of medical background anyway. The people that do go on that "diet" do it only to lose weight. They also gain it back + more, just like anyone else that goes on a fad diet.

Looks like two female celebrities made this "diet" popular.
