Oh the irony after all the right-wing propaganda about trash left after anything left-wing or even moderate happens.

The thousands of people who descended upon the Jersey Shore town for President Donald Trump's 'Keep America Great' rally at the Wildwoods Convention Center left behind a sea of trash in the parking lot — including their abandoned beach chairs and blankets — after the rally wrapped up.

Rally-goers were allowed to bring chairs as they waited in line — some for up to 48 hours before the event — but they weren't allowed to bring them inside the venue.

Factor in the blankets they used to stay warm, and all their drinks and food they were snacking on during the long wait in the parking lot and the convention center ends up with a parking lot full of trash to deal with Wednesday morning.

Embarrassing, but not at all surprising. Humans are incredibly messy on the whole, and even moreso when the groupthink is 'someone else will handle this'.

Pretty much I bet if someone wanted to do a story on the trash left behind in the parking lot where they are having the Super Bowl in the next few days.

As much as purchasing a ticket to see Trump at a rally defines such person to be an idiot, probably, pissed poor logistical planning has as much to do with the mess, as anything else.

wonder if they could resell some of that, some must be useable.

Was thinking the same thing.

I'm also thinking some of those folks doing the cleanup will have a swap meet sale of epic proportions and then have the proceeds finance a right and proper kegger with all the trimmings to make it a class A event in compensation for their above and beyond cleanup effort turning trash made by Trump trash into a winner.

It's not worth time and effort reselling. The only things I saw worth salvaging were beach/camping chairs and inflatable mattresses (possibly just one). These are only worth a couple of bucks on craigslist. It's not worth the time and effort and space to organize a yard sale for couple of hundred dollars worth of sales.

I live in North Wildwood. Sorry, but the people who frequent Wildwood are on the shady side. Just saying.

From what I've been told is they had to limit the amount of trash cans because of security issues. Someone could put an object in the trash can with the intention to hurt people. You just don't know in today's climate. Also, I was told that the Secret Service were not allowing people to go back to retrieve their items. Again, security issues. A coworker whose brother is a police officer was not allowed to go back to get his chair after the event. He had to leave it there. i don't know how true this is though. Makes sense I guess.

I mean big groups usually make messes, it's nothing special. The only reason it's notable is how right wing groups like to argue that they clean up after themselves. Clearly not.

What kind of ahole sleeps outside for two days in a parking lot to just to hear a politician lie to them?

Christ, find a hobby or something to fill that empty vacuum of time they call their life.

How dare you disparage the Trump cult?

So true. Wildwood is the beach "resort" of choice for guidos from NE Philly and South Philly. Think the cast of Jersey Shore, only from Philly, not New York. It's not that far away from Ocean City or Margate, but it may as well be on a different planet.

Friends of mine got mugged there, back in the day.

The only time I ever was there, we "dropped" at sunrise and went to the beach. Somehow -- -- I got separated from my buddies. So, there I was later that morning, lying prone on my side at the beach, drinking in a lovely lass alone and just 20 feet away, her long tresses blowing in the sea breeze like she was the female lead in a Hallmark movie. My morning had been quite the experience. I will say no more here about that. Closer by, seagulls were fighting over something edible, one gull getting it and then another gull forcing the first one to drop it . . . rinse, repeat as nausem.

Remember, I'd never been to Wildwood. Suddenly, at 10am, loudspeakers I hadn't noticed and didn't know were there crackled to life with a recorded exhortation to stand for the Star Spangled Banner. The girl got up and stood to attention, alone on this part of the beach except for me. I just rolled over and put her out of my sight. The gulls kept doing their "Sisyphus tries to hang on to the one edible morsel" thang. My reverie was broken.

Wildwood. The perfect place for a Trump rally.
