massive fps drops in BF BC2

At regular intervals every 10 minutes or so, my fps will drop from a constant 60 fps to ~5 fps for like 2 or 3 seconds, and then it goes back up to 60. Meanwhile this happens, my cpu usage drops from ~70% down to ~10, and there is absolutely no other process consuming cpu, ram, or I/O. Running FW 197.13.

It's getting really annoying, anyone else is experiecing this?

No shot... cpu is plenty cool. I tried setting the process to higher priority and it still happens, so my educated guess is that it's not other processes causing this, it's the game itself. Dunno what though...

And it doesn't do this in and other games or programs??? Tried running Intel Burn test???

Nope it was just BC2. Anyways, I uninstalled punkbuster and nvidia drivers, re-installed both, and the problem is gone ..

I did play in a diff server tonight however, but if it's my regular server that's causing this I couldn't care as long as it's not my machine doing this.
