Massive Amount of Space Being Used Up

Hi. I got a new Lenovo laptop and while it was fine for a day, I realized yesterday that suddenly over 100 gb had been eaten up. I first assumed it was Rescue and Recovery but there was still no space after I uninstalled it. I ran Space Monger and this is what it came up with. Which folder should I be deleting?

no relevant information is given in that graph that will account for 100 gigs, but your windows directory is 13 gigs larger than mine. all of the regions shown in the image do not even add up to 100 gigs, let alone 298 gigs, so you either have enormous amounts of data in hidden files/folders, or you need to find a program/method that better illustrates your storage usage.

I do not know how lenovo does it, but it's possible Rescue and Recovery is stored on a separate hidden partition so even if you uninstall it, it won't add more free space.

I've seen similar stuff on our servers where backup program would reserve space on hard drive, then crash or have some problems and wouldn't give it back easily. Might be the same. Google is your friend.

Oh the image doesnt show it, but the dark grey area below the window with the 3 folders is an unscannable section that takes up 170 gb or so of Data.

then why did you even show us the image? the wasted space is obviously going into the unscanned region. like i said, find another way to illustrate your usage.

I was just showing it to make a point. I'm not sure what those 3 folders are, and Google is being pretty bad about it. I found about two topics that didn't help me very much at all. I'm aksing how to get rid of this space and what they contain in the first place.

How big is Windows\System32\LogFiles\ ?

4mb. I got another 50 gb back after a while. I think I had to restart to get rid of system restore information, but I dont really see a reason why I should still be missing 100 gb in that unreadable area

Happy new laptop, the first thing to do is GET RID OF THE JUNK!
First, if you got it with a copy of microsoft office, make sure you have your office install disk and key, if you did not receive it call lenovo and yell at them, they charged you for office they better damn deliver... you can get a copy of a disk from elsewhere and use a program to rip out your key, but why should you?

Under your battery (or just bottom of computer) there is a holographic sticker with a windows OEM license key, this is your windows license.
Get an OEM install disk of that exact windows version (ex: windows vista home premium 64bit OEM).

REMOVE ALL PARTITIONS on the drive, ESPECIALLY the hidden ones.
use the windows install disk to install a fresh copy of windows.

BE WARNED! ALL DATA ON THAT COMPUTER WILL BE DELETED!

However, you will have a nice clean fresh computer installed properly with none of the terrible junk and ads and branding that laptop companies insult their customers with.
