Mass Texting System?

Looking for a system or software to alert our 100+ employees when our office will be closed due to weather or anything of the sort. Not sure this is the best place for this thread. Any help in the right directions is greatly appreciated.

No idea how to help you except to say that it does exist. Our company has one but we put out a bid for a system that included that plus some additional features.

Google mass or group texting. Looks like options are out there. On phone so didn't look thru the hits.

An app called Tasker can basically do anything provided you give it a condition and a task to do when it reaches that condition.

For example, you can set the app to know what the weather is like and ask it to text your list of employees whenever the weather gets below 50 degrees farenheit.

That was just an example, so I'd def. look into Tasker

Get a list of everyones phone provider and phone number. Every phone provider has an email to text address. For example AT&Ts is phonenum@txt.att.net and verizons is phonenum@vtext.com, sprints is phonenum@messgaing.sprintpcs.com

Create a distribution list of all these addresses and send them a small email.

One warning: if you bulk send these, some providers will block it as spam. It is better to automate individual emails to each of them.
