mass storage controller banged

Horsepower

Senior member
Built a P4 2.8 on an Intel D845PEBT2 with a GeForce and Audigy Platinum Ex. Installed all correct and updated bioses and software, and still have "mass storage controller" banged out in unknown device category. (SATA is disabled) Any suggestions?

Unfortunately, Windows will still detect the chipset even if it
is disabled in the Bios, so it may be of benefit to install the driver aways.

Well, you were correct! We had the rig sitting because his room does not have grounded outlets. We hooked it up here and tried the SATA floppy that came with the mobo, no dice. We then downloaded the newer Intel version and it recognized it as a Raid type device.
