A Texas grand jury has indicted 19 Austin police officers on charges of aggravated assault with a deadly weapon for their actions during 2020 protests over racial injustice that spread nationwide after the killing of George Floyd, according to people familiar with the matter.

Cops with an axe to grind: "Well if you can't severely beat them back into their holes what's a guy to do, huh? Those fuckers ruined my whole day so some payback justice is only right and fair ya know?"

Wait, they fired beanbags at the crowd, thereby breaking bones and leaving multiple people in critical condition, some with fractured skulls and brain damage?
Was this the expected outcome of their actions, of this "less lethal munitions"? Did they know what they were doing? I suppose, how could you not know the lethality of your own equipment....

Given that rocks were being thrown at the officers, what is their expected response? Rocks are an assault with a deadly weapon. What are the officers trained to do?

Were they trained to shoot those rounds at protesters' heads? I'm sure you could argue that was accidental but headshots in each instance is highly suspect.

Not sure if they are trained to do exactly that but it seems suspicious.
