Mass Effect not working for me anymore

I picked up the Mass Effect trilogy when it was on sale. I started playing Mass Effect 1 and everything was great, and got about 10 hours into the game over a couple weeks.

But then today I try to play the game and i'm getting this Rendering Thread Exception General Protection Fault error. I googled it and it seems to be an issue with the Unreal Engine in this game but I cant find a clear explanation on how to fix it. Anybody here encountered this error and successfully got around it? I am running the Origin version btw.
 
That worked on getting the game to run but now for some reason my RadeonPro profile doesn't run for the game, I guessing because of the compatibility mode somehow. Which means I can't run Vsync because in game vsync is broken, and id rather not play the game with my GPU rendering 300 frames per second.

Anything else that will work?
