Bioware is busy with the SW Knights of the Old Republic MMO, a science fiction MMO. No need to cannibalize the product line. (* Cough, Sony and their 4 high fantasy MMOs*)

Exactly. I'd much rather have a Star Wars MMO first.

Wouldn't an MMO require the removal of everything that makes Bioware games appealing?

There would be not moral quest choices that alter the entire game world.
You could not form deep relationships with an entire cast of characters and change their appearance, personality, or lifestyle.
The game would become all grind for good loot, something Bioware games were never really about.

Shall I assume you meant a good Star Wars MMO? :p

Hahaha. I was going to say something about another (second) attempt at a Star Wars MMO :)

There's quite a few Sci-Fi MMOs coming out in the next few years, Star Wars, Star Trek, heck, even Firefly is coming out in an MMO form. But out of all of those, i look at Mass Effect and think the lore and class/skill system is far superior to all of those for an MMO.

Maybe that's why i think it'll work for an MMO so well, because i've been treating it as an MMO, even though it's single-player, and it's been a blast.

I beat the game once in normal mode as a soldier, which unlocked hardcore for me. So i played that as a vanguard, and beat it. Which opened up yet another difficulty. So now i need to beat it in insanity. But as a soldier with just shield barrier, it's way too tough. I think i need singular or lift as a soldier to make it through, so i have to replay the game a third time as an adept, to unlock singularity for my next character. So now i'm halfway through the game a third time, playing a class i'm not particularly fond of (i'm much more tank/dps oriented) to unlock a skill so i can beat the same game a fourth time in it's hardest mode.

All because i want to see how kickass my character can be in a virtual world, and because of the stupid 360 achievement points.

And it's obvious the class and skills were created based upon MMOs character balance and development. You have the tank classes (soldier and vanguard obviously), the dps classes (infiltrator and other techs), healers, and even crowd control (which is why i need to get singularity or lift)!

I think you mean that the other way around....

Anyway, if classes are all you care about then I suppose it could be made into an MMO. But then, why Mass Effect? Tons of RPGs have classes.

The class system isn't what make Bioware games unique. It's the things that I mentioned.
