Mass editing of scanned pdf file

Have about 4000+(scan manuals) and have then all save as pdf file
The problem is, most of the pages that I scanned have black dots( holes in the paper), or smudges on them. I want to clean them up some how, but I don't want to hand edit each page in photo shop.

Is there a program that will do this for me? plug-in for photo shop???

Thanks a lot for the help🙂

From your description, I interpret you to say you have scanned the PDF files and have saved the graphics. What you really need is to scan the original PDF file with a good OCR program, such as OmniPage Pro 11 and then deal with the final result in any editable text or document format you choose. It beats dealing with graphic images.

Hey,
I scanned the manuals(Car repair manuals) to pdf files, and I want to remove the black line on the edges of the file?.

I could just hand edit all the file, but I have around 4000+ and that is a lot to edit by hand in photo shop?:|

I can?t use an OCR program because most of the manual is diagrams and pictures

Hope that clears it up a little bit

Funny you asked, I was just looking up some of this stuff for someone at work today. I'm not sure if regular Acrobat has the tools that will let you do this quickly, but I'm pretty sure Acrobat Capture should do exactly what you need! It scans, does OCR, touches up (I think), and outputs to text, html, or PDF. It's a little expensive though ($300 retail), but hope that helps!
