Maryland state lawmaker wants to ban vulgar vehicle decorations

ANNAPOLIS Fake bull testicles and other anatomically explicit vehicle decorations would be banned from Maryland roads under a bill pending in the state legislature.

The measure was filed in the General Assembly Monday by Delegate LeRoy E. Myers Junior, a Republican, says children shouldn't be exposed to giant plastic gonads dangling from pickup truck trailer hitches.

The bill also would ban depictions of naked human breasts, buttocks or genitals, with offenses punishable by fines of up to 500 dollars.

Pamela Campbell, whose Bullhead City business sells fake bull testicles, suggested that the swinging decorations can prompt healthy discussions about anatomy and reproduction.

Last week, Arizona's legislature rejected a measure that would have banned vehicle splash guards bearing racist terms or silhouettes of naked women.

Down here in redneck land where I live (NC) I see the nuts thingies hanging from diffs and bumpers but I didn't really know what the hell it was when I first saw it. Kinda hard to distinguish as a pair of nuts. And most are painted some color besides flesh anyhow.

Huh, I had no idea MD was so socially conservative.

Heaven forbid children be exposed to depictions of balls. I guess the next step is to pass legislation requiring all intact male animals wear pants.

EDIT: Here's what they're talking about mostly. I think they're tacky, but outlawing them is ridiculous.

There's no great hidden purpose here to eventually take away all our freedoms.

Trucknuts do not represent freedom of expression.

I hope it passes.

With low-life trash being the only people to be penalized by this legislation, I vehemently approve.

Not here in Maryland.

While our roads deteriorate year after year, the lawmakers worry about stupid $hit like this.

Soon there'll be no way for people to fully express their white trashiness on the outside of their vehicles :(

Trucks, while rednecky enough, do not need balls hanging off the hitch slot. Most of those types, are already small, inky dinky twinky men, who need a penis extension, hence the truck, in the first place.

Gotta love the dude, who jumps down from his mile-high truck, in his Eminem garb, with the white ball cap, turned backwards. Oh, and those fake 8 carrat earings....puhleez!

Wonder when their gonna get the YASC message? YASC = you ain't so cool.

No, these things play a necessary evolutionary purpose. They scream "Flawed DNA, select a different mate". Banning them simply masks the problem.

I don't think they should be outlawed, it's an easy way to clean the gene pool....you get your own set of plastic nuts to hang from your truck after your state paid for vasectimy (sic?)

btw, big trucks != compensation....I have a big truck(93 Dodge Diesel pushing 35" tires), my wife says I'm just fine....(fyi, that's not my daily driver...it gets maybe once a week use. My daily is an 88 VW cabby)

Damn it... I've figured it out now:

A while back, license driver renewal was $20.. I recieved my notice the other day for my upcoming renewal. It is now $30. This is where the extra $10 is going.. to fund the time wasted to pass stupid laws like this.

I've only lived in Maryland since 1999. During this short time, I've noticed:

License Plate registration almost doubled
License renewal up $10
County tax rate increase slightly..
Housing on the rise.. even up in rural counties, such as where I live..

Roads deteriorating year by year, with no new repairs

School system sucks; when it gets hot, they have to let the kids out of school, since alot of the schools don't have air conditioning.. or the air conditioning has failed..
Schools were not built to accomodate for increased student levels.. Now they just waste time and $$ on those stupid portable buildings.. Stop wasting time and $$ and just build a bigger fvcking school.

So.. where the fvck are Maryland taxpayer's dollars going?

not only that, but don't politicians have anything better to do? just the other day I heard about some politician that is fighting to change President's Day back to Washington's birthday or something stupid like that.

Isn't there a war going on? don't we have millions of homeless people? isn't our healthcare system in shambles? etc...
